My GSP has epilepsy seizures and I had originally had him on purina one lamb and rice. He would drink gallons of water and it was concerning. Come to find out the salt content in that brand was very high. Did some research and found Wellness Lamb and Barley is very low in salt content. My dog is currently on phenobarbital and eating this dog food and is drinking less water then he ever was on the other dog food. I’m very very happy I made the switch since he loves this food.
My dog likes this one so far. His fur looks brighter after having this product.
My hound just loves this kibble.
My dog doesn’t like this food and only eats it when he was absolutely starving. He also passed such bad gas that I had to buy lots of air fresheners! I couldn’t wait to return to our former product, Nature’s Grain.
Doodle mom here: we have tried it ALL when it comes to dog food.We have tried Lamb, Salmon, Beef, and Chicken in various brands. Lamb & Rice was fine but our schnoodle's allergies were still too much. Our vet suggested we switch to this white fish and let me tell you..........Our 3 year old has NEVER had this much energy. We had seen him start to come out of his shell with more park trips due to us working from home, but within DAYS he was a whole new dog. His energy was through the roof! He was begging & whining for his food when it was time to eat (he had never done this before) - he seriously couldn't get enough. He lost a little weight & gained some muscles, and his allergies definitely improved! we saw a big change in his coat from more course & stringy to a softer (and lighter colored) undercoat. He stopped itching/licking his paws as much and actually was acting so much younger we decided to get him a brother!!Now: our 9 month old doodle has been incorporating whitefish into his diet for the past month that we've had him. He came with 44 lbs of lamb & rice and we didn't want to through food away, so right now we're doing half and half - but we started with only 1/4 cup and over the past month he has also changed a lot!! He's dropped some puppy fluff and started to build muscle, he is growing TALL but not gaining weight (which is kind of crazy!!) and has SO MUCH ENERGY (even for a puppy, people at the park are always wowed by how long this guy runs!).10000000% recommend!! I know it's a little pricey (we're feeding 110 lbs of dog as recently graduated student - we get it). But if you want to give your fur baby the best - start feeding them THIS FOOD. It's so so worth it.*note: it IS white fish. It stinks. Get yourself an air tight container if you don't have one already.
Kibble quality is good
He’s loves his new dog food.
She loves it!
I gave 5 stars in freshness and taste blindly. I don’t really know how to tell if dog food is fresh or tastes nice. What I do know is that this was purchased a low sodium option for my elderly (14-year-old) Australian Shepherd with end stage congestive heart failure; using this and daily fish oil supplements has made a huge difference in his quality of life. He is now eager for walks, more playful, and back to his annoying habit of providing a wake up call (moaning, crying, barking) if his breakfast is “late” (7 am).If you’ve done any research you can relate to how hard it is to find a dog food this low in sodium (made extra hard because most dog food packaging does not include sodium content). Even better is that it is on the lower end of the cost spectrum for its category, highly reviewed by experts for its quality, and cheaper than prescription meds. SO worth the cost!!
I like the quality of the ingredients. My dogs coat is noticeably shinnier.
